$12m bail for women in Westmoorings drug bust

THE TWO women held last week Tuesday at an apartment at Regents Gardens, Westmoorings, during a multi-million-dollar drug bust have both been granted bail of $6 million each. Krystiana Sankar and Yannis Pebbles Augustine were each granted bail by Port of Spain magistrate Aden Stroude when they reappeared in the Port of Spain Magistrates’ Court yesterday. Read more…

New re­ports emerged on Mon­day of al­leged pro­to­col and se­cu­ri­ty breach­es by For­eign and Cari­com Af­fairs Min­is­ter Den­nis Moses at Air­port Au­thor­i­ty se­cu­ri­ty check­points.This fol­lows an­oth­er mat­ter which oc­curred on Sep­tem­ber 20.It was re­cent­ly re­port­ed AATT se­cu­ri­ty guard Kelvon Alexan­der was sus­pend­ed for two weeks in an in­ci­dent in­volv­ing Moses and Plan­ning Min­is­ter Camille Robin­son-Reg­is when they at­tempt­ed to ex­it via the air­port's du­ty-free area on Sep­tem­ber 20. Extended hours for Xmas barrel collection

PORT Authority chairman Lyle Alexander today gave the assurance that people who are expecting to receive Christmas supplies through the Port of Spain port will be able to receive them in a timely manner. Alexander said Christmas time remains a period when the port receives lots of personal cargo, some of it in barrels, sent by TT nationals living abroad to friends and relatives at home. Sandals sex scandals hit US media

Multiple sexual assault allegations reported in US media are rocking Sandals Resorts International (SRI) – facetiously being re-branded by some observers as “Scandals” Resorts.The new allegations come on the heels of Sandals’ mishandling and attempted cover-up of the norovirus outbreak at its Royal Bahamian Resort that saw hundreds of persons contracting a debilitating stomach flu; controversy over their business dealings involving “obscene levels” of concessions from various Caribbean governments that have led to international scrutiny and investigations; along with the firm’s persistent meddling in the internal political affairs and processes of some Caribbean countries. Brexit: Theresa May meeting EU leaders in bid to rescue deal

Theresa May is meeting European leaders and EU officials on Tuesday for talks aimed at rescuing her Brexit deal.She is holding talks with Dutch PM Mark Rutte and Germany's Angela Merkel after postponing a Commons vote on the deal.The UK PM has said she needs "further assurances" about the Northern Ireland border plan to get backing from MPs.
