Supermarket robbery ends in sudden death for 3 suspects
Surveillance video showed robbery suspects joyously running from a supermarket with boxes and bags of things that didn’t belong to them on Tuesday night. Not long after, three were dead, and two on the run. At around 9p.m members of the Central Division task Force responded to a robbery in progress at the corner of Welcome Road and Raghunanan Road, Cunupia. Another worker crushed by truck on the job
For the second time in two weeks, an employee of a construction company was allegedly crushed to death by a company truck while on the job. On Tuesday, Hardeo Manohar, 63, an employee of Coosal Construction Company Limited, died beneath the wheels of a dump truck in Manzanilla. Manohar, who was a crew driver with the company, resided on Chin Chin Road in Las Lomas. A police report on the incident stated that the incident occurred around 10.26 a. m., on the Manzanilla Mayaro Road. THE Prime Minister's decision to retire from electoral politics has boosted the PNM's political stocks ahead of this year's general election, while dissatisfaction is seeping throughout the ranks of the Opposition UNC about its selection of candidates. Agostini's to change its name
Shareholders of Agostini's Ltd will be asked to change the name of the company at its annual general meeting to be held on February 13. The shareholders are going "to consider and if thought fit, approve a change to the company's name" to Agostini Ltd. The motion to change the company's name is the only item of special business to be considered at the annual general meeting, which is scheduled to be held at the Hyatt Regency in Port-of-Spain. Guyana: Taxi driver changes plea to guilty in security firm theft
Carlton Damion Singh, a taxi driver from Independence Boulevard, Albouystown, has changed his plea to guilty after initially denying charges of stealing firearms and ammunition from Radar Security and Supplies Company. Singh, also known as 'Fat Boy', was charged with Simple Larceny for the theft of items worth $3,733,700 (1GYD = 0.0048USD) between December 24 and 26, 2022, at the company’s Carmichael Street location. Ten Palestinians killed as Israeli forces launch major operation in Jenin
At least 10 Palestinians have been killed and nearly 40 injured by Israeli forces during a major operation in the Jenin area in the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian health ministry says. Palestinian media reported that on Tuesday there were several air strikes as a large number of troops entered the city and its refugee camp, backed by drones, helicopters and armoured bulldozers.
