Professional Qualifications Required

• Heavy-T license (Class 4 and/or 5) • A valid Police Certificate of Good Character or receipt of application • At least 5 years’ experience driving heavy T vehicles. Experience in food industry would be an asset. • Must be able to drive a forklift. • Five (5) CSEC passes inclusive of Mathematics and English. • Ability to perform physical activities requiring lifting and bending.

Technical / Vocational Skills Required

• Good verbal and written communication skills. • Customer service oriented • Good interpersonal skills • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description

The Heavy T Delivery Driver is responsible for operating the heavy T vehicles to deliver products to the company’s retail stores and customers across Trinidad. The driver is responsible for delivering goods, maintaining all housekeeping of vehicles, distributing and receiving any goods and adhering to all legal safety regulations whilst on the road.

Job Details / Responsibilities

·         Good customer service when delivering goods to customers.

·         Assisting with sorting of dry goods for delivery.

·         Assisting with checking off of dry goods for delivery.

·         Assisting with checking off of frozen goods for delivery.

·         Ensuring the vehicles are properly cleaned and maintained by; checking fluid levels, tires, battery etc. and alerting the relevant person for repairs and maintenance.

·         Completing daily ‘Vehicle Inspection Form’.

·         Ensuring that any issues that arise when delivering goods are handled in an appropriate manner.

·         Ability to work well with minimal supervision.

·         Ensuring that all frozen and dry goods that are returned are signed and accounted for when it is returned to the Head Office via a ‘Goods Return Form’.

·         Collecting payments from customers as requested.

·         Always practicing safe driving when on the roadways and abiding by the Motor Vehicle and Road Traffic Act of Trinidad and Tobago.

·         Maintaining a well-groomed appearance, being well-spoken and courteous

·         Willing to assist with deliveries of shipments and picking up of cargo.
