Professional Qualifications Required

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE At least three years in a supervisory position. ACCA qualified. Must be proficient in the use of Accounting Software and Programs and have a good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of Programs Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferable or the FMCG industry OR an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.

Technical / Vocational Skills Required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES • Must be a team player. • Must possess good interpersonal, organisational and analytical skill. • Ability to multitask to accomplish established objectives. • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills. • Aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem solving skills • Detail oriented.

Job Description

Reporting to the Financial Controller or his/her Designate, the Accountant will manage and analyze financial records, prepare financial statements, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Job Details / Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the Accountant includes, but is not exclusive to:

  • Preparing on a monthly basis Financial Statements in management format, analytical reports and Head Office reports within stipulated deadlines.
  • Preparation of Statutory Financial Statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Leading the external  audit process, ensuring completion within budget and within deadlines.   
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets.
  • Perform weekly and monthly payroll functions as-well-as complete the organisation’s TD4 preparations for the calendar year.
  • Ensure the monthly, quarterly and annual statutory obligations are calculated, paid and filed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Manage staff and periodically review performance.
  • Prepare and reconcile intercompany transactions.
  • Prepare General Ledger reconciliations and to review subordinate staff reconciliations.
  • Maintain the fixed assets registers and capital allowances register.
  • Be informed and updated with all new accounting and reporting standards to ensure the relevant application of such standards are completed in a timely manner.
  • Initiate enhancements of the computerised accounting systems.
  • Assist and coordinate the accounting and reporting functions of any associated or subsidiary entities of Caribbean Packaging Industries Ltd.
  • Maintain and support internally driven KPIs e.g. working capital management, debtors’ days, etc.
  • Perform any other duties that may fall within the remit of the accounting function, or that which may be assigned to you from time to time.
