Professional Qualifications Required

Degree, Diploma or equivalent technical qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related discipline. 2–3 years’ experience in maintenance coordination/planning. Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance and RCA. Experience in manufacturing and/or CMMS is an advantage. Strong planning, organizational, analytical and communication skills.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities Plan and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities. Manage maintenance schedules, work orders, backlog and CMMS records. Coordinate shutdowns, repairs and contractor interventions. Monitor spare parts, procurement and maintenance resources. Prepare maintenance reports, KPIs and Root Cause Analyses (RCAs). Support equipment upgrades, reliability and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure maintenance activities meet required safety and compliance standards. Coordinate effectively with Production, Engineering, Quality and external service providers.

Job Details / Responsibilities

Maintenance Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop and manage preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for factory equipment.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with Supervisors based on operational priorities and equipment criticality.
  • Plan and coordinate shutdowns, major repairs and contractor interventions.
  • Monitor the maintenance backlog and drive timely completion of outstanding work orders.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records in the CMMS.
  • Monitor preventive maintenance compliance and ensure timely completion of work orders.
  • Coordinate communication between Maintenance and Production teams.
  • Support maintenance systems, reliability programmes and planning processes.
  • Ensure safety requirements, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures, are incorporated into maintenance activities.

Spare Parts & Resource Coordination

  • Coordinate the availability of spare parts, tools and maintenance resources.
  • Liaise with Procurement, suppliers and OEMs to ensure timely delivery of parts and services.
  • Raise and track purchase requisitions.
  • Identify critical spare requirements and support effective inventory management.
  • Monitor spare parts usage and recommend improvements.
  • Assist with maintenance resource and materials planning and budgeting.

Administration & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of work orders, breakdowns, downtime, repairs, service reports, PM compliance, SOPs, certifications and equipment manuals.
  • Prepare maintenance reports, KPIs and Root Cause Analyses (RCAs).
  • Maintain technician schedules, attendance and training records.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Maintain records relating to safety permits and statutory inspections.

Projects & Continuous Improvement

  • Support the development and improvement of maintenance procedures and systems.
  • Participate in equipment upgrades, process improvements and reliability initiatives.
  • Facilitate RCAs for recurring equipment problems and monitor corrective actions.
  • Analyse maintenance data to identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency and safety.

Operational Support

  • Provide support during plant emergencies and critical operational events.
  • Coordinate urgent maintenance activities outside normal working hours when required.
  • Work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering and external service providers.
  • Perform other duties consistent with the position and operational requirements.
