Key Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and properly secure goods on the truck before departure.
• Inspect delivery orders to ensure the correct products, quantities, and documents are loaded.
• Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely deliveries.
• Deliver products to customers and obtain customer signatures as proof of delivery.
• Collect payments when required and submit all payments, receipts, and delivery documents according to company procedures.
• Communicate with dispatch, the warehouse, or management regarding delivery schedules, delays, vehicle issues, customer concerns, or route changes.
• Handle customer inquiries professionally and assist in resolving minor delivery issues where possible.
• Maintain a professional appearance and represent the company positively when dealing with customers, suppliers, and the public.
• Follow all traffic laws, company policies, delivery procedures, and safety requirements while operating company vehicles.
• Assist with the physical loading and unloading of goods at the warehouse, customer locations, and other delivery points.
• Ensure goods are handled carefully to prevent damage, moisture exposure, contamination, or improper handling.
• Use safe lifting techniques when handling heavy paper products and other goods.
• Assist in checking products before loading and upon delivery to identify damaged, missing, or incorrect items.
• Report damaged, missing, or incorrect items promptly to the appropriate supervisor or department.
• Assist in arranging and stacking products safely and neatly on the truck and at customer locations.
• Ensure products are protected during transport by using proper securing methods, covering, wrapping, or other protective measures as required.
• Help maintain a clean and organized truck loading area and delivery vehicle.
• Inspect the delivery vehicle before and after each trip and report any maintenance, safety, or mechanical issues immediately.
• Ensure the assigned vehicle is kept clean, organized, and properly cared for.
• Use company-issued equipment, including tablets or mobile devices, for navigation, order management, delivery updates, and proof of delivery.
• Ensure fuel, delivery tools, documents, and other necessary items are available before leaving for deliveries.
• Assist with warehouse duties when deliveries are complete or when required by the company.
• Pick and prepare orders for delivery.
• Assist with packing, wrapping, labelling, inventory checks, and stocking.
• Support general warehouse organization and cleanliness.
• Assist the warehouse team with movement, storage, and handling of products as needed.

Key Requirements

• Valid Heavy-T driver’s licence.
• At least five (5) years’ driving experience.
• Previous delivery, warehouse, or lorryman experience would be an asset.
• Ability to lift, carry, load, and unload heavy items, often up to 50 lbs / 23 kg or more.
• Must be capable of operating a company-issued tablet or mobile device for navigation, order management, delivery tracking, and proof of delivery.
• Good knowledge of road safety, vehicle care, and safe driving practices.
• Ability to follow delivery instructions, routes, schedules, and company procedures.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable, punctual, responsible, and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be physically fit and able to perform manual handling duties.
• Must be willing to assist with warehouse duties when required.
