Professional Qualifications Required

• 5 GCE/ CSEC passes, including Mathematics and English • CompTIA A+ Certification. • CompTIA Network+ Certification. • Microsoft Certification (optional / asset). • Minimum of two (2) years’ professional experience working with Windows computer networks and domain structures. • Proven experience installing, deploying, and supporting Windows-based computers.

Technical / Vocational Skills Required

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Client, and Server systems. • Solid troubleshooting skills and practical problem-solving skills. • Excellent technical documentation and report-writing skills. • Good organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with internal staff and external vendors. • Ability to ensure rapid resolution of critical computer hardware and software issues within the shortest possible time and in a cost-efficient manner.

Job Description

The Information Technology Technician maintains, configures, and repairs all Company computers and accessories as required. The incumbent manages computer software and hardware with support from External Consultants, and acts to maintain, upgrade, and recommend upgrades for any existing software, hardware, or applications to ensure cost-efficient and effective technology is employed in pursuit of the Company’s aims and objectives.

Job Details / Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

·        Troubleshoot and resolve a host of Company computer-related hardware/software problems that may arise.

·        Perform upgrades and repairs on Company computers as necessary; facilitate the deployment and configuration of computers.

·        Diagnose and facilitate the repair of non-warranty computers.

·        Implement, deploy, upgrade, and repair hardware equipment and software systems, and modify configurations as directed (e.g., computers, printers, scanners, switches, wireless routers, etc.).

·        Perform advanced tasks with respect to Microsoft client operating systems.

·        Administer Windows Server and Active Directory domain services in a virtualized environment.

·        Administer and maintain the company’s internal mail server.

·        Perform security checks on Firewall and Antivirus, configuration changes, and periodic rebooting of servers post-windows updates services to ensure optimum performance and security in conjunction with the External Team.

·        Maintain server and network infrastructure by liaising with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements.

·        Administer and maintain CCTV equipment and provide video footage for review by management.

·        Administer and maintain the organization’s VoIP Telephone PBX and provide support to all end users.

·        Manage Disaster Recovery solution with the External Team and perform periodical Offsite Backups.

·        Ensure the maintenance and accuracy of an Asset Register of all IT Equipment.

·        Provide prompt IT support to all end users in response to requests for assistance.

·        Identify and provide justification for areas that require upgraded hardware and software.

·        Liaise with staff, suppliers, and external technical support in resolving issues and implementing equipment and systems.

·        Provide administration and first-level support to the organization’s business applications.

·        Provide administration and troubleshooting services for SQL Server Databases.

·        Administer and maintain Biometric scanners, including the training and enrollment of all employees in conjunction with the Payroll Department.

·        Ensure that all tasks are conducted as per safe work procedures and in accordance with OSHA guidelines.

·        Comply with the provision of proper industrial relations practices, and Company policies and guidelines.

·        Performs any other related duties as may be required by the function.
