A relevant degree in Chemical or Industrial Engineering, along with a background or training in production, is required, supported by at least five (5) years of supervisory experience within a manufacturing or similar environment. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety laws and procedures, as well as technical competence in handling basic machinery and equipment, which would be considered an asset.

To provide strong support to the Operations Manager through the efficient management of all aspects of Production. Namely, Production Planning, Assisting with Raw Material Planning and forecasting, Production Supervision, Supervision of Quality Control personnel and maintaining stock of labels, packaging materials and production consumables. To ensure the safety of staff, the proper maintenance of equipment and the timely, cost effective and efficient functioning of all these areas of operation.
Liaises with Sales and the Management team to prepare daily/weekly/monthly Production Schedules.
Manages monthly/quarterly budgets, monitoring production volumes, and expenses closely, preparing management reports, conducting variance analyses, reviewing results, and recommending and implementing changes as required to achieve targets set.
Manages the Production Department efficiently to ensure timely production as scheduled, maximizing all resources and eliminating/minimizing any failures/reworks.
Reviews the production and MIS systems and makes recommendations for improvement-increased production volumes, reduced costs and greater efficiency.
Works closely with the Executive Management team, making sound recommendations to control and reduce expenditure and improve production and operations systems and increase profitability.
Oversee Production team, ensuring proper procedures are followed, compliance with health and safety regulations, communicate business targets and department goals and address any staff concerns
Responsible for the overall performance and productivity of all departmental staff, providing leadership by example, promoting a strong sense of team, working closely with Human Resources to ensure training and development, documentation, record keeping and undertaking sound disciplinary measures when necessary.
