Professional Qualifications Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (e.g., Electrical & Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field). • Experience or internship in a manufacturing or process plant environment would be an asset. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) for reporting and documentation. • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a small, cross-functional team. • Willingness to work on the plant floor and respond to breakdowns, including occasional overtime or weekend work as needed.

Technical / Vocational Skills Required

• Basic knowledge of industrial automation and controls, including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo drives, sensors, relays, and contactors. team. • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and P&IDs. team. • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach. team. • (Nice to Have) Familiarity with Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar PLC/HMI platforms. team. • (Nice to Have) Experience with motion control systems (servo positioning, web handling, registration control). team. • (Nice to Have) Exposure to paper, printing, packaging, or related industries.

Job Description

The Junior Automation Engineer supports the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the company’s automated paper-processing and packaging systems. This role provides hands-on exposure to industrial automation technologies and offers an opportunity to apply engineering principles to optimize performance, enhance reliability, and ensure smooth, safe production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Job Details / Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of automated paper-processing and packaging equipment.

  • Support maintenance and modification of PLC-based control systems, including logic updates, minor program edits, and documentation.

  • Calibrate, maintain, and replace sensors, actuators, servo motors, VFDs, and other field devices.

  • Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery, control panels, servo systems, and instrumentation.

  • Monitor production line performance and collect maintenance data to recommend improvements in uptime, speed, and quality.

  • Support preventive maintenance activities and ensure strict adherence to safety standards and lock-out/tag-out procedures.

  • Maintain up-to-date documentation such as wiring diagrams, I/O lists, PLC backups, and change logs.

  • Collaborate closely with production and maintenance teams to resolve equipment breakdowns and reduce downtime.
