Professional Qualifications Required

• High school diploma or GED required; technical/trade school certification preferred. • 2+ years of maintenance experience in a food processing, manufacturing, or industrial environment. • Knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems (including 3-phase), hydraulics, and pneumatics. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and schematics. • Experience with welding and fabrication is a plus. • Basic knowledge of PLC systems and automation is an asset. • Refrigeration experience or certification (e.g., Ammonia systems) is a plus. • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment. • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.

Job Details / Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment, including conveyors, freezers, packaging lines, pumps, and other seafood processing equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, or control system failures and make necessary repairs or adjustments.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns or production requests to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain and repair refrigeration systems and other temperature control systems, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
  • Inspect and test machinery and equipment to ensure proper operation and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation.
  • Collaborate with production and sanitation teams to ensure equipment is maintained in a clean and operational condition.
  • Assist in installation and commissioning of new machinery or plant upgrades.
  • Adhere to all company safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and food safety guidelines.
  • Maintain tools and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives.
