Job Description

The Agricultural Officer ensures that local produce is selected and purchased in the required timeframe/ amounts, in accordance with established Food Safety/ GMP specifications and at the most economical prices. S/he fosters mutually beneficial and long-term relationships with farmers and also supervises a team of skilled/ semi-skilled staff to ensure that fresh produce is partially processed in a cost-effective manner.

Job Details / Responsibilities

Key duties include:

Continuously source and negotiate supplies of fruits and vegetables taking into account seasonal availability, market price fluctuations and production requirements.
Oversee systems related to the receipt of all produce to ensure that they conform to established specifications.
Conduct field visits to monitor the overall availability of produce and progress made by farmers.
Monitor usage of insecticides, etc. to ensure that raw materials conform to international standards.
Supervise the Company's processing sstaff in accordance with established manufacturing procedures and quality control guidelines
Provide oversight to the Fruit Area, proposing and implementing process improvements
Maintain close working relationship with internal stakeholders in order to prioritise and fulfil production schedules.
