The Dispatch Clerk ensures that all goods are accurately pulled and ready for dispatching, scheduling deliveries, coordinating with drivers, dispatching deliveries in a timely manner, and bringing all dispatch issues which arise to the attention of the Dispatch Supervisor. This position requires someone with excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask, and a proactive approach to problem solving.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Delivery Planning & Dispatch: Plan efficient delivery routes, assign drivers, and monitor deliveries to ensure orders are completed on schedule, conduct bond checks daily and coordinate dispatch for walk-in customers (Contract Drivers and Sales Representatives).
2. Sorting, Loading & Documentation of Delivery: Organize orders by area, palletize and load goods, and prepare delivery documentation, verify invoices, route sheets, goods, and paperwork for accuracy before dispatch. maintain and file all required dispatch records.
3. Tobago & Returned Deliveries: Ensure Tobago shipments meet sailing schedules, Coordinate returned goods and re-deliveries, including reassignment of drivers. Ensure returned goods are properly checked, packaged, and prepared for re-delivery.
4. Safety & Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and dispatch area while complying with safety policies procedures.
5. General Responsibilities: Return equipment to charging stations and assist with container unloading and stocktaking, maintain professional standards and adhere to scheduled working and break times, communicate dispatch issues to the Dispatch Supervisor and perform other duties as assigned by management.
