Professional Qualifications Required

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: • Accredited Advanced Diploma or First degree in Human Resource Management • Certification in Microsoft Office Suite, or proven intermediate level skills • A minimum of 4 years’ experience, with at least 1 year in a similar role • Introductory training in Project Management an asset • A suitable combination of training and experience will also be considered

Technical / Vocational Skills Required

Job Description

The Human Resource Officer position is a contract position that provides skilled technical and administrative support to the HR/ IR Manager in the delivery of HR Services across the Company. Work is done with some degree of autonomy, according to company policy and with the highest level of confidentiality.

Job Details / Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide support under all HR functional areas, including (this is not an exhaustive list)
    • Talent management:
      • Prepare draft ads for review
      • Posting vacancy notices internally and externally
      • Conducting first level shortlisting of applicants
      • Coordination of interviews
      • Conducting reference checks
      • Preparing offers and coordinating onboarding of new staff
      • Setting up and maintaining schedules for the coordination of performance management processes
      • Supporting the HRM in pursuing specialized staffing projects
    • Employee and Industrial Relations:
      • Taking notes at grievance meetings
      • Supporting in coordinating disciplinary hearings
      • Serving as a witness to discussions as requested
      • Supporting the development and implementation of ER and IR tools/ frameworks
    • Rewards Administration
      • Updating soft and hard copy employee leave records
      • Participating in relevant health plan administrative duties as required
      • Highlighting leave discrepancies, high leave balances and possible abuses etc for HR/ IR Manager’s attention
    • HR Administration/ Metrics
      • Keeping HR soft and hard copy records up to date via weekly/ daily data entry and filing
      • Generation of HR operational reports based on approved schedule
      • Prepare contracts, letters and other documents based on existing templates
    • Organizational design+ Employee Development
      • Support in developing and implementing new systems, such as knowledge management solutions
  • Assist the HR/ IR Manager in successfully developing and executing all projects/ initiatives
  • Lend support to internal stakeholders, with the prior approval of HR/ IR
  • Performs all duties in keeping with company policies, and in adherence to Occupational Safety and Health requirements
  • Performs any other related duties as may be required by the function.
