Job Description

The Junior Payroll Clerk is responsible for generating payroll for the weekly paid staff, the preparation of journals: updating databases updates, filing and providing overall support in the payroll department

Job Details / Responsibilities

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

Processing weekly payrolls (including wages and other allowances) within established time lines, including making the required deductions.
Assisting with other payrolls as required, and provide support in the department when other team members are absent.
Printing and distributing pay-slips.
Preparing Journal Vouchers after each payroll for approval and posting to the General Ledger.
Editing and submitting employee attendance reports for approval.
Verifying leave taken by permanent employees for payment processing.
Timely storage and filing of payroll documents.
Assisting with maintaining an Employee Data Base for past and current employees
Completing and submitting payroll reconciliations after each payroll.
