Job Description

To ensure that all electrical equipment and machines on the Plant are kept operational at maximum efficiency and maximum availability. This includes the Standby Generators and the entire Electrical distribution system.

Job Details / Responsibilities

  1. To ensure that all required Preventative Maintenance schedules are assigned and carried out.
  2. To review completed PM schedules, ensure that all required information has been documented.
  3. To note corrective work required to be done and ensure that relevant information is passed on to the Engineering Planning Department for generation of work orders.

  4. To liaise with Engineering Planner and determine job priorities for scheduling.

  5. To ensure that all work is carried out safely; in accordance with the Company’s Safety rules and regulations and acceptable safe working practices.

  6. To ensure proper standards of housekeeping are maintained in the workshops and all work sites.

  7. To monitor subordinates’ time keeping and attendance; to set out shift rosters and vacation schedules.

  8. To make up time sheets for subordinates
  9. To ensure that all proper tools and equipment required for maintenance tasks are provided.

  10. To carry out periodic tool checks of tools supplied to subordinates and take appropriate action.

  11. To liaise with Engineering Stores to ensure that all  relevant technical data is provided with respect to orders for parts, tools and materials.

  12. To keep the Plant Engineer up to date with relevant information regarding status of plant and equipment and projects.

  13. To monitor and evaluate performance of subordinates on a regular basis.

  14. To recommend and assist in training and development of subordinates.

  15. To assist the Plant Engineer in the planning and execution of projects identified by the Plant Engineer.

  16. To carry out any other relevant duties as assigned by the Plant Engineer.
