A PREGNANT teacher of Ste Madeleine Secondary school had to call in police yesterday to rescue her from irate parents, one of whom was armed with a piece of wood and who threatened to beat her. Japan Funding To Help Women In Guyana, Dominica Deal With Disasters
Japan has provided US$5 million to help rural women in Guyana and Dominica, particularly those engaged in agriculture, withstand the effects of climate change.The money will fund a project to strengthen disaster management capacity of women in the two countries, which will be implemented over a three-year period starting in April.
