Help is pouring in for a South Oropouche family who have been forced to live in their car after being evicted last week. A father and his two daughters have come forward promising to construct an entire house for Dave Nagoo, his wife Indira and their three young daughters. Read more here

A night of good food and music
In 22 years the Express Children’s Fund has helped put thousands of needy pupils through primary and secondary school, says chairman Dr Allan McKenzie. McKenzie, speaking at the charity’s annual fund-raising dinner and dance red-carpet event, on Saturday night at the Hilton Trinidad and Conference Centre, St Ann’s, said a further 75 pupils will receive bursaries from the fund in 2017. No date has yet been for a meeting between Finance Minister Colm Imbert and the owners and/or shareholders and/or directors of private members clubs. This was the word yesterday from senior government officials in response to a statement from the TT Members Club Association that it has accepted Imbert’s invitation to the “owners” meet. Rowley calls on CoP to note rabble-rousers
Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley is calling on acting Police Commissioner Stephen Williams “to take careful note of what happened in the Parliament” when casino workers disrupted the Senate’s sitting on Thursday. Speaking at the People’s National Movement’s (PNM) public meeting at the San Fernando City Hall on Friday night Rowley called the casino workers “rabble-rousers” that created “mob rule” in the Parliament. Costa Rican ambassador seeks more trade with T&T
Costa Rican Ambassador Lilly Edgerton wants to see more trade between T&T and the Central American country. “That is why we have our trade facilitation company, PROCOMER here in T&T because several companies from T&T went to the buyers trade mission in Costa Rica one month ago. PROCOMER is in T&T to follow up with those companies and ensure they made business.” Edgerton spoke to the Guardian at a PROCOMER trade conference hosted at the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), Port-of-Spain.
