Body found with face skinned
The body of a man with the lower half of his face skinned was found in Couva yesterday. According to reports, around 6.30am yesterday officers from the Freeport Police Station responded to a report that a body was seen lying on the side of the road along Exchange Couva link road to Waterloo. When the officers arrived, they saw the body of an East Indian male dressed in a pair of blue jeans, a blue vest and a blue and brown checkered shirt with a pair of blue shoes with white soles. Medical student destroys statues during church service
While the Palm Sunday celebrations were taking place at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception in Port-of-Spain yesterday, a medical student took out a pair of dumbbells and damaged the statue of St Paul and desecrated the crucifix that was supposed to be used on Good Friday. Yesterday signalled the start of the Holy Week on the Christian calendar. The Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday which commemorates Jesus Christ’s triumphant arrival in Jerusalem to the cheers of the crowd. Read more here

Mayor: Crackdown on Central drag strips
Chaguanas Mayor Gopaul Boodhan says he intends to stamp out illegal drag racing in the borough after receiving complaints that the stretch of roadway on the northern side of the Ministry of Agriculture head office and along Connector Road, Charlieville are being used as drag strips at nights. “This cannot be tolerated and it’s illegal, I am asking for people to refrain from this activity or feel the full brunt of the law. There are too many accidents and road deaths across T&T,” Boodhan said during an interview at the Borough head office on Friday. Read more here
Archie hounded for HDC homes
Chief Justice Ivor Archie confided to Industrial Court President Deborah Thomas-Felix that he was being pressured by several citizens for Housing Development Corporation (HDC) homes. The pressure came from people who had been conned by Archie’s convicted fraudster friend Kern Romero. The people, most of whom contacted Archie via his cellphone, indicated they wanted either a refund or their HDC homes. Read more here

‘T&T Facebook users beware’
Stephen King, CEO, Ixanos, is advising T&T nationals to be cautious while they use Facebook and other forms of social media. “No users are protected with respect to Facebook. If you look at the terms and conditions of use, users of Facebook have given up a lot of their rights, privacy included. If people are worried about privacy, Facebook is the last thing they should be using,” he said. King said he has examined Facebook’s terms and conditions as his company has done several mobile applications. Read more here

Honours In Abundance - Holness Moving To Secure Legacies Of Leaders; Museums, Libraries To Be Built
Prime Minister Andrew Holness has announced plans for the construction of more museums and libraries in honour of past leaders of the country. Holness, while speaking at the rededication ceremony of the Bustamante Museum in Kingston last Thursday, said that it was only the beginning of a wider-scale effort to properly recognise those who have gone before. "We are not only going to do this museum. I think we must erect monuments for all our leaders. We must put up museums and libraries in honour of all our heroes," the prime minister said. Stormy Daniels says she was threatened to keep quiet about Trump
In her first extended television news interview since the news of her alleged 2006 affair with Donald Trump emerged, adult film actress Stormy Daniels declined to discuss whether she had evidence of the affair and said that she was threatened to stay silent about it. Risking hefty fines for violating a $130,000 hush agreement, Daniels detailed what she said was the only time she and Trump had sex -- saying she spanked Trump with a magazine and that Trump had compared her to his daughter Ivanka.
