We’re seeking a qualified sales representative/merchandiser to help us sell the products and services that our customers have grown to rely on. The sales representative will have a strong understanding of the sales process, excelling at generating leads, building relationships, and closing deals. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner with strong negotiating skills, and the ability to showcase our offerings in a compelling way. Often tasked with giving presentations, attending promotions at stores, and attending trade shows, it’s essential that our sales rep be personable and professional. Job Details / Responsibilities

Sales Representative Responsibilities:

 

  • Generating leads.
  • Meeting or aggressively exceeding sales goals/targets.
  • Being able to negotiate with prospective clients.
  • Helping determine pricing for quotes, promotions, and negotiations.
  • Preparing weekly visits reports.
  • Giving sales presentations to a range of prospective clients.
  • Coordinating sales efforts with marketing strategies.
  • Understanding and promoting company products.
  • Responsible for the collection of payments from customers/credits.
  • Preparing and submitting sales quotes for orders.
  • Visiting existing customers and potential new customers to evaluate needs or promote products and services
  • Answering customers questions about credit terms, products, prices, and availability.
  • Making sure that the company products is always properly merchandized in the stores.
  • Ensuring that proper shelf space is maintained and being able to negotiate additional space in stores.
  • Keep track of products expiry dates an ensuring that dates are rotated accordingly in the stores.
  • Keeping abreast of all competitive activities and notifying the company.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and customer relationships.
  • Reach out to customer leads through cold calling.
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction.
  • Coordinate sales effort with team members and other departments.
  • Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests and potential for new products and service.
  • Must possess excellent time management skills within the company’s hours of business. (7.30am -4.30pm).

 

 

  • Attending weekly sales meetings.
  • Maybe required to work on weekends when the company participates in promotions at stores.

MERCHANDISERING ROLE

The merchandiser is responsible for the packing out and displaying of company’s products and ensuring company products are on customers’ shelves in a timely manner.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Ensures that the company’s products are prominently displayed in retail customer outlets.

·         Ensures that products are accurately priced, that stock is rotated, and expiry dates are monitored              in accordance with approved schedules.

·         Installs point of purchase material as required and keeps assigned shelves clean.

·         Identifies sales opportunities.

·         Aggressively pursues additional opportunities for optimum space utilization and product placement.

·        Communicates with the relevant Manager if goods have not been delivered to any outlet under                   their responsibility.
