• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance. • At least five (5) years’ experience as a Credit Manager. • Excellent inter-personal and problem-solving skills. • Excellent organizational and teamwork skills. • Excellent written and oral communication skills. • Proficiency in MS word and Excel. • Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics AX an asset.
Accountable for the entire credit granting process, including the consistent application of a credit policy, periodic credit reviews of existing customers, and the assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers, with the goal of optimizing the mix of company sales and bad debt losses. Ensure the timely collection of monies due to the company. Status: Permanent, Reports To: CFO - Trinidad, Subordinates: Credit Analysts; Collectors
In conjunction with sales, finance, and the company’s legal counsel, determine and update best practice credit policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with credit policies and procedures.
Approve or reject the staff's credit recommendations.
Establish credit rating criteria.
Approve credit terms and limits outside the established credit policy.
Initiate legal or other recovery remedies against delinquent customers.
After consultation with CEO, JDL, determine accounts for suspension of supply.
Review credit applications as required.
Monitor the accuracy and validity of credit notes.
Regularly visit large credit customers.
Conduct field visits to facilitate collection of monies.
Perform any other related duties which may be allocated from time to time.
