Job Description

Carry out mechanical repairs and service to all company vehicles and equipment as instructed.

Job Details / Responsibilities

Inclusive of but not limited to:

1.      Rebuilding and troubleshooting of  engines.

2.      Perform mechanical repairs including changing of fan belts, greasing of ball joints, axles, ends, crosses, rollers, etc., to all company vehicles and is not limited to: cars, vans, Pac Mors, Rear Loaders, Marrel trucks and Forklifts according to manufacturers’ specifications.

3.      Repair and service clutch systems including manual and air clutch (i.e. change clutch plates, discs and cylinders on all vehicles).

4.      Repair and service manual transmissions (gear boxes) on all vehicles including damaged gears, PTO’s, gear shifters, etc.).

5.      Repair and service brake systems on all vehicles including: manual and air clutch, brake actuators, cylinders, boosters, brake sheets, etc.

6.      Identify problems and perform repairs on fuel systems including lift pumps, air locks, restricted flows, injector pump adjustments, tanks, etc.

7.      Service, identify and rectify problems on automatic transmissions

8.      Refer to technical and/or maintenance manual for clearances and service information.

9.  Troubleshoot and rectify mechanical problems and failures.

10.  Troubleshoot and rectify problems on automatic transmissions.

11.  Attend to all breakdowns of Company vehicles.

12.  Carry out preventative maintenance work on vehicles as outlined in preventative maintenance checklist and schedule.

13.  Request replacement parts and material from Supervisors specifying part numbers, quantity, size, serial and model numbers, etc., in a timely manner.

14.  Repair and service differential assembly including: adjust crown wheel and pinion, change damaged gears, range assembly, etc.
